Maggie Hasspacher

It is peaceful to be Maggie Hasspacher. Her Austenian spirit is akin to the floating air that a rippled French augmented sixth chord (perhaps also her favorite chord?) makes in a room. Maggie is easygoing in the face of difficult musical tasks, she someone constantly with looks of humor, curiosity and eagerness her face. Maggie is a conundrum, who loves conundrums. She’s worked with her high school English teacher Mrs. Spear, conductor Susanna Malkki, ensemble Eighth Blackbird and bassist Diana Gannett. She’s a teacher in Detroit, bassist, vocalist, composer, and champion of new music, who’s commissioned and premiered solo bass and voices pieces by Sarah Gibson, Timo Andress, Noah Meites, Anna Mikhailova and Amy Bormet.
