Rachel Beetz

Rachel Beetz is an unbolted repetition machine. She finds herself at home where we're not at home, amongst grain silos, machine factories, dark fjords, windy turbines, fans, airplanes, hvacs, and knitting needles. She reads like an archivist, and is a memory. She composes with curiosity, plays the flute literally everywhere and with everyone, and towards any object or concept as a score. She is sooooo organized. She is the most organized one of us. For certain. Like we don’t even have to check on this. Difficult to contain, she’s been a designer, and data-base holder, band leader, record label exec, visual artist, food-based artist, celestial artist, femme band practitioner, shine theorist, dancer, and a notable railroad spike hammerer. She makes brilliant music with close friends Jennifer Bewerse, Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs, Heidi Ross, Nichole Speciale, and Berglind Maria Tomasdottir working in the wild fields of film, song, cuisine, somatics, drawing, and performance art.
